Genesis 3

Genesis 3 is a yet another server in the very long saga of Genesis servers on Garry's Mod. It is hosted on this same machine as this website for now.

History

Genesis 3 originally started out as a server that was not supposed to become Genesis 3 at all. The server's name was Nodivia. After a few days of the server existing Delectros came along and joined the server. He asked me if this was Genesis 3, and I replied with a no. However, after some consideration I decided that I would make the server Genesis 3 if Anto joined. And he did indeed join later.

Anto was likewise surprised. Then came Poly, and then pretty much most of the people from Genesis 2 joined and we messed around until the night. I'm surprised the server held up considering the hardware. It was then that I finally decided to take up hosting Genesis. I decided to merge the two ideas, which resulted in the name Nodivia Genesis 3.

Technicalities

One of my main motivations for hosting Genesis 3 was my recent development of the transpiling language Nitra. The fact that it could transpile down to Lua was important as Garry's Mod uses Lua for it's scripting.

However, despite my love for Nitra, Genesis 3 still shares some Lua files with Genesis 2. A prime example is the !eval command which allows you to evaluate mathematical expressions quickly.
